Mission:
  • To manage, direct, advise, and oversee the budget, business plan, and forecast processes, all management reporting companywide, including such functions as salaries and payroll, mergers and acquisitions advisory, business and financial analysis, pricing propositions, and oversee the provision of thought leadership within the OPCO across multiple ERP Cloud functional streams and its application for effective business decision-making as well as special ad-hoc financial projects.

Description
  • Develop a financial planning framework for MTNN and drive the business planning and budgeting activities of the organisation, ensuring alignment with company strategy and objectives, and facilitating the development and production of MTNN business plans and financial budgets for board approval.
  • Control Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for Finance across the Business and provide oversight for the coordination of internal and external audit processes.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies that support prudent and professional accounting management of financial, interest rate, and currency risks.
  • Develop and periodically review payroll processes, and provide advice on remuneration issues and policies for national and expatriate staff.
  • Lead and collaborate with other business units in the development of business models for use in MTNN and develop measurement strategies to support ongoing strategy development and project optimization.
  • Oversee the guidance of the business in the creation and implementation of sound and consistent financial close and reporting processes across multiple Oracle Cloud ERP modules.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the ERP Cloud Master Data Management strategy at the enterprise level by establishing, guiding, and championing enterprise-wide governance that promotes ‘single-source-of-truth’, data-driven utilization of all integrated systems and data across the organization.
  • Ensure there is provision of leadership in the areas of planning, scheduling, coordinating, tracking, and status reporting of tasks in support of Oracle Cloud ERP deployment of new functionalities arising from GT maintain and demand processes.
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of OPCO’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) processes and procedures to maintain Oracle Cloud ERP infrastructure, such as the user provisioning process, role management, rules for segregation of duties, etc.
  • Champion/Sponsor review of business processes (headcount, process optimisation, business optimisation etc.) to drive efficiency gains and ensure at least a 5% reduction in divisional budget year-on-year.
  • Champion contract negotiations to reduce costs and drive the MTNN value creation philosophy.
  • Create enabling environment that allows innovation and value adding decisions thrive.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the operations, leading team to deliver on respective business targets and improve overall performance of the department.
  • Ensure the proactive promotion of Oracle Cloud ERP knowledge management within MTN Nigeria by maintaining repository for knowledge documentation and dissemination and the acquisition of tacit knowledge within MTN Nigeria by participating in knowledge forum within the Group and external forum such as Oracle User Group community focused conferences.
  • Ensure the provision of assurance to the Executives such as CIO, CHRO, CFO that relevant controls, policies and procedures are in place and operating effectively and that actions are in place to address emerging risks and incidents arising from day to day use of Oracle Cloud ERP.
  • Coach and mentor the Financial Planning team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of all related job requirements and accountabilities and leverage human resources career development programs for staff career development.
  • Identify, evaluate and track the development needs and performance of staff within the department, providing opportunities for staff to build on the company's investment in their training and improve productivity.

Education:
  • First degree in Accounting or related area of study
  • Professional Qualification from a recognized Accounting Body (FCA, CA/ACCA)
  • Fluent in English

Experience: Minimum of 12 years work experience including:
  • Senior management track record of 3 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/industry as per relevant role
  • 3 years’ experience in relevant industry/sector
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise (understanding emerging markets advantageous)
  • Work experience across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Experience in Enterprise/Corporate Performance Management
